Mrs. Adeline Addis, 84, died in the home of her son, Walter K. Addis, 1020 South Webster street, at 7 o'clock Wednesday morning. She had been in ill health for some time but had never been bedfast. She was born in Mt. Carmel, Ind., on Oct. 7, 1843 but for the past 66 years had made her home In Decatur. Her husband served In the 77th Illinois infantry and died in 1905. She leaves her son, Walter Addis of Decatur, two grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. She was a member of the First Methodist church. The body was removed to the Moran & Sons funeral establishment where It will remain. Funeral services will be conducted in the Moran chapel at 10:30 o'clock Friday morning. Friends may call at the chapel after 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon.
Mrs. Addis was buried in the public mausoleum in Greenwood and when it was torn down in 1967, her body was placed in a common grave.
Adeline was the daughter of Isaac Burkholder and Elizabeth Winn of Pennsylvania.
