Sgt. Russell Henry Addington COLUMBIA - A memorial service for 1SG Russell Henry Addington, US Army (Ret.), a/k/a "Big Russ", "Buddy" and "Gramps" of Columbia will be held at 1pm on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the Fort Jackson Main Post Chapel, Bldg 4580, Corner of Strom Thurmond Blvd and Scales Ave. Burial will follow the service at Fort Jackson National Cemetery at 3pm with full military honors. Mr. Addington passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the age of 66. Born on January 13, 1948 in Utica, NY, he was the son of Walter Thomas Addington and the late Beatrice Worlock Addington. Russell is survived by his wife, Linda Addington; daughters, Sherrie Addington (Jimmy Cook), Tracie Addington (Tommy Houge); grandchildren, Jessica and Trey Lambert, John Russell Carter (Kristin Cannon), Savannah Ochoa, Sydney Ochoa, Tamela Houge; great-grandchild, Liam "Buddy" Lambert; siblings, Howard Addington (Sue), Irene Davis (Phil), Claudia McLean (Rod), Suzy Kenyon (Don) and Leona Addington; Nieces, Nephews and many, many friends.
