Birth: Jul. 17, 1950
Death: Feb. 15, 2011

On Feb. 15, 2011, at 5 a.m. the entire family of Betty Ruth Adcock grieved upon her passing. That morning, Mom said goodbye and entered heaven, and we said goodbye for a while to a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a wonderful Christian lady.

In December 2003, she was diagnosed with stage III lymphoma cancer. By God's grace, Mom fought a valiant fight, suffering many things of many physicians: chemo radiation, and in 2007 a self-donor stem cell transplant in Nebraska, which never grafted very well. As a result of the cancer returning, there was more chemo. In April 2010, she had another bone marrow transplant with double cord blood, which failed completely. This was followed by infections and fevers. In July 2010, she had another bone marrow transplant (from an unrelated donor), which grafted at 95 percent. This too was followed by more fevers, more infections and finally rejection, which claimed her life.

She fought a good fight, suffered many things of many physicians and spent 180 days since April 15, 2010, in the hospital, yet she was none the better, until the great physician entered her room, gathered her in his loving arms and granted her the complete healing that she had wept and prayed for, for so long.

We look forward to seeing Jesus and mom in heaven someday soon. - Written by her husband, the Rev. William C. Adcock.

She was a billing specialist for Sparks Hospital, a member of Collinsville Freewill Baptist Church in Collinsville, Okla., and a longtime resident of a pioneer family in Crawford County.

She was preceded in death by both parents, Clifford and Winnie Atwell Pixley; and one sister, Anna (Taylor) Parker.

Funeral service was 10 a.m. Saturday at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, the Rev. William Adcock; one daughter, Sherry Lynn Lininger and husband Ronnie of Muldrow; three sons, William C. Adcock Jr. and wife Susan of Seminole, Okla., Naaman Adcock of Muldrow and Kevin Adcock and wife Mandy of Sanger, Texas; eight grandchildren and one on the way.
