Husband of Alma Laura Moon. Son of Elmer Daniel Adcock and Cora Gilbert

Chariton, Iowa
Thursday, June 5, 1975

Clem Kenneth Adcock, age 75, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 1975 at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital in Chariton. He was born March 26, 1900 in Monroe County, Iowa to Elmer and Cora Adcock.

He lived in Iowa 47 years, Tucumcari, N.M. 16 years, Ontario, Calif. 8 1/2 years, and retired and resided in Chariton the past 3 1/2 years.

On September 12, 1920, in Des Moines, Clem Kenneth Adcock and Alma Laura Moon were joined in Holy Matrimony. They have shared a faith and trust in God that has been an inspiration throughout the years to many, many friends and relatives - a faith that was not altered in the sorrows and trials of life.

To this union eight children were born, one daughter and seven sons. Clem provided a Christian home for his family in which Christ was the head. He was both a loving husband and father, completely devoted to giving love and providing for the needs of his family.

His life was a sermon to others, of faith, compassion, love and courage. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Chariton. He became a Christian at the age of 19, and lived and died trusting in Jesus, his Saviour.

Clem was preceded in death by his father and mother, Elmer and Cora Adcock, also one brother, Gerald and one sister, Thelma.

He is survived by his wife, Alma of Chariton; a daughter, Ada Gretten, Cedar Rapids; sons, John, Chariton; Bill, Tucumcari, N.M.; Donald, Huntington Beach, Calif.; Philip, Orange, Calif.; and Paul, Roy and Bob of Riverside, Calif. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Byron and two sisters, Mabel Gladson and Hazel Mason.

Clem will be greatly missed by his family and many friends everywhere and will be long remembered in each community that he lived.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Everett Hollingshead, assisted by the Rev. Johnnie Butcher, at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 30, at the Fielding Funeral Home. Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery.
