Mr. James Richard Adcock, age 75, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, January 5, 2013, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Sam Jack Brantley and the Rev. Tom Bierovic will officiate, with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be 4-8 PM Saturday at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel.

He was born September 24, 1938, in Bedford County, to the late James Herman Adcock and Agnes Sudberry Adcock Yowell. He was a Certified Public Accountant with Adcock Accounting. Mr. Adcock, along with Clyde Adcock, were founding partners of the firm. He was a farmer and Veteran of the United States Air Force. He held membership in First Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Brantley Adcock, and a son, Ralph Bradley Adcock.

Survivors include a son, James Richard "Ricky" Adcock, Jr., and his wife, Linda, of Brentwood, and a daughter, Alison Adcock Calhoun, and her husband Scott, of Starkville, Mississippi; two sisters, Mary Jane Parks, of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Bonnie Mae Brown, of St. Petersburg, Florida; five grandchildren, Jacob Adcock, Lucas Adcock, Bradley Scott Calhoun, Paul Michael Calhoun, and Alex Brantley Calhoun.
