John H.L. Adamson also has a grave in Iuka Cemetery, Iuka, Kansas that he shares with his father, Benjamin E. Adamson. I don't know which is a cenotaph, but I suspect the Iowa one is.
Died -- John H. L. Adamson, son of B. and Mary Adamson, aged 17 years, 11 months and 26 days, near Iuka, on Sunday, March 21st, 1880, of palpitation of the heart.
Some seven years ago Johnie Adamson hurt his spine while playing at school, since which time he has been a sufferer. During the last winter he attended school in this place and seemed in fair health. The first of last week he was taken ill, and at five o'clock on Sunday eveing his life passed away without struggle. His remains were interred in the Iuka cemetery on Tuesday night.
We wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to many friend who so kindly aided us with their presence and attention during the sickness and bereavement of our son.
