Arthur Adams, age 87 of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at Christiana Hospital on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 after a short illness.

Mr. Adams graduated from Fairfield Maine High School, enlisted in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1952 after serving in Korean War at Pork Chop Hill. Mr. Adams then took up the skill of a Mason bricklayer who worked on numerous large east coast projects during his long career. He belonged to Bricklayers & Allied Local Union #1, 57 years with Sebasticook Lodge #146 Clinton, ME, Granite Corinthian Lodge #34, Korean War Veterans Assoc. Chapter #2 and 60+ years with American Legion, Clinton, ME. Mr. Adams was always willing to help anyone anytime and had a big heart. The angels received a new angel on Tuesday and he will be missed.

Mr. Adams is predeceased by his wife Effie Adams. He is survived by his daughters, Joan Payne of Leesburg, FL, Kim Bradford of Clinton, ME; son Mike Adams and wife Rose of Waterville, ME and his brother Leon Adams of Benton, ME. He also leaves behind four granddaughters, 5 grandsons, ten great granddaughters, five great grandsons and one great-great granddaughter.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 from 9:00 to 10:00 am at CHANDLER FUNERAL HOME, 2506 Concord Pike. A committal service will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Veterans Administration Hospital, 1601 Kirkwood Highway, Wilm, DE 19805.
