ELGIN ADAMS OBITUARY
Elgin Lucille Sigmon Adams, 84, of 255 Arlie Loop, Statesville, passed away Monday, June 12, 2006, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Adams was born June 1, 1922, in Statesville and was the daughter of the late Ernest O. and Mary Sigmon of Statesville. She attended Statesville City Schools and was married on Aug. 16, 1939, to Charles Rex Adams, who survives. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Adams is survived by sons Charles Kenneth Adams and wife, Vicki, Jeffery Michael Adams and wife, Janet, and Blaine Keith Adams and wife Vickie, all of Statesville. Survivors also include 9 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Grandchildren are Joshua Adams and wife, April, of State Road, Tuesday Adams of Statesville, Kent Adams and wife, Cheryl, of Troutman, Robin Adams of Statesville, Trudy Dillard (Jaime) of Statesville, Patrick Patterson and wife, Stacie, of Statesville, Kevin Brown and wife, Sarah, of Statesville, Kelly Grubaugh and husband, John, of Ravenna, Ohio, and Misti Taylor and husband, Jason, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Mrs. Adams is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Madelaine Harrison of Statesville, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Adams is preceded in death by a son, Timothy Rex Adams, and a sister, Mrs. Virginia Milstead. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, at Statesville Full Gospel Tabernacle in Loray, with nephew the Rev. Richard Adams and the Rev. Robert Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Joshua Adams, Kent Adams, Jamie Dillard, Kevin Brown and Donnie Pennell. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:30to 8:30 at Statesville Full Gospel Tabernacle. Directions to Statesville Full Gospel Tabernacle: Take Highway 64 West to Tarlton Road. Turn right onto Tarlton Road and go about one block to Highway 90. Turn left on Highway 90. Go three-tenths of a mile west on Highway 90 to Village Point Subdivision.
