On November 30, 1942 at Jefferson Barracks, Missoouri he entered the United States Army. He received his honorable discharge on January 11, 1946 at Ft. Knox, Kentucky.
He was employed at the Hunter Packing Company in East St. Louis, Illinois over 23 years before his retirement.
Survivors include: one sister, Annie Belle Levulis of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; a number of nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
Services were held on May 10, 1997 at 4 p.m. at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Kenny Lee officiating. Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery.
