The funeral for Charles Gilbert Adams, 70, of Athens, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Spry Funeral Home with Dennis Ivey officiating. Burial will be in Bottoms Cemetery.
Mr. Adams died Thursday, July 10, 2008, at home.
Mr. Adams was a retired heavy equipment operator and a Navy veteran.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Vickie Skipworth; brother, Thomas Earl Adams; sister, Kathleen Gee; and a great-granddaughter, Catherine Louise Adams.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dee Adams of Athens; four sons, Johnny Adams, Stevie Adams, Scottie Adams and Harold Adams, all of Athens; three daughters, Peggy Miller and husband Randy of Tanner, Susan Roberson and Donna Gandy, both of Athens; two brothers, Billy Adams and Bobby Adams, both of Athens; two sisters, Linda Kyle and husband Frank, and Charlotte Caldwell, all of Athens; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
