Mrs. Mamie Baker, 77, long-time resident of Memphis, died at 3:15 p.m. Sunday in Fort Worth.
Services for Mrs. Baker were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, in the Assembly of God Church here with the pastor, Rev. Virgil C. Sparks, and the Rev. Lloyd Riddles, pastor of the Travis Baptist Church, oficiating.
Burial was in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Spicer Funeral Home.
Born Oct. 1, 1893, in Louisiana, Mrs. Baker was united in Marriage to R.P. Baker on Jan. 22, 1921, in Memphis. He preceded her in death in 1958. She was a member of the Travis Baptist Church.
Mrs. Baker had been a resident of Fort Worth since 1948 before moving to Memphis several years ago. Her residence here was at 311 S. 7th St.
She is survived by one son, Prentice Baker of Arlington; one brother, A.B. Wills of Grand Prairie; six sisters, Mrs. O.D. Phillips, Mrs. J.H. Martin and Mrs. V.P. Fowler, all of Memphis; Mrs. Zula Mason of Atlanta, Mrs. Zephir Francis of Austin and Mrs. Earl Richards of Muleshoe; and three grandchildren.
Pall bearers were Wayne Martin, Ray Phillips, Doyle Fowler, Bill Wills, Thurman Widener, Buddy Francis, Don Lancaster and Troy hillips.
