Ector, Texas – Funeral services for Kaye Adams, age 60 of Ector, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2003 at the DeKalb Church of Christ in DeKalb, Texas.
Interment will follow in the on Friday Woodman Cemetery in DeKalb. Ken Hope of Garland and Lynn Matheny of Arkansas will officiate.
Kaye passed away in Bonham on November 5, 2003.
She was born the daughter of Roscoe and Minnie Hall on September 26, 1943 in Bowie County, Texas.
On October 8, 1960, she married Carl Adams in DeKalb, Texas and they lived in Fannin County, outside Ector where they raised their children, Brent Adams of Bells, Texas and Rebecca Penix of Waco, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Minnie Hall and a brother, Sam Hall.
Katy-gran, as she was known to all, founded and owned Adams 1st Financial Inc. where she was President and engaged in mortgage banking.
She loved watching her grandchildren in anything they participated in, and was a strong supporter of Bells Youth Sports as well as other worthy organizations.
She was an avid collector of things relating to elephants and cherished the many elephant-related gifts that friends and loved ones had given her over the years.
Katy-gran was a member of the Church of Christ and attended services in Savoy. Kaye always felt a positive attitude was important professionally as well as in every day life.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Adams, Ector, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Shari Adams, Bells, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Mike Penix, Waco, Texas; mother-in-law, Estelle Adams, DeKalb, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Jo and Don Carter, Odessa, Texas; grandchildren, Mitch Davidson, Mallory Davidson, Audrie Adams, Britnie Adams and Lucas Adams and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Brent Adams, Mike Penix, Scott Adams, Greg Adams, Randy Hensarling and Lyn Brantley.
Family visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, November 06, 2003 at the Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham, Texas.
Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham and Bates-Rolf Funeral Home in DeKalb will be in charge of funeral arrangements.
