John David Adams, 61, of Fort Scott, passed away at his home Tuesday, July 14, 2015.

He was born October 17, 1953 in Fort Scott, Kansas the son of John Henry and Dorcas Elizabeth (Wilkerson) Adams.

Survivors include his two sons, Bryan Adams of Pittsburg, Kansas, and Darnell Johnson of Fort Scott; six brothers, Hugh Wilkerson and wife Ramona of Mexico, Stanton Wilkerson of Canada, Claude Adams of Fort Scott, Danny Adams and wife Michelle of Spokane, Washington, Laurence Adams of Pittsburg, Kansas, and Brian Adams of Buffalo, New York; a sister, Aileen Adams-Boyington; five grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, and special friends, Cadillac McNack, and Michael Lewis Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a great-niece.

Pastor George Proctor will conduct funeral services at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2015 at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Scott under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery immediately after services. Memorial contributions may be made to the John Adams Memorial Fund and left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall Street, PO Box 309, Fort Scott, KS, 66701.
