CHARLES W. ADAMS , 85 of 817 Ninth Ave., Fulton, died Monday, Dec. 28, 1998, at Samaritan Hospital North, Clinton, Iowa. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral home, with the Rev. Tim Kaufman, pastor of Bethel Christian Reformed Church, Fulton, officiating. Burial will be at Fulton Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to American Heart Association. Mr. Adams was born in New Brunswick, Iowa, the son of Forrest and Ava (Harlock) Adams. He graduated from Clinton high School, Clinton, Iowa, in 1931. He married Birgit Heldt on Jan. 1, 1940, in Clinton, Iowa. She died June 24, 1995. He was employed by Collis of Clinton, Iowa, Rock Island Arsenal and DuPont, Clinton, Iowa, for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1975. He served in the National Guard. He was a member of the Rock River Men's Bowling Association and their Hall of Fame. Survivors include a daughter, Tia (Robert) Caffero of West Chicago; a daughter-in-law, Beth Adams of Fulton; a sister, Wanda Adams of Clinton, Iowa; a brother, Forrest Adams of Charlotte, Iowa; 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Adams; a sister, Arthera Bauer; and a brother, Howard Adams.
