MACON, Ga. - Carl J. Adams, 81, of Macon and formerly of Johnsburg, died Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon.
Born July 22, 1927, in Johnsburg, to Otto and Coletta (Freund) Adams, he was raised in Johnsburg and graduated from McHenry High School in 1945. He attended Lake Forest College before entering the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. After his discharge from the service, he moved to west California in 1949. He was employed at the Captain Cook Travel Agency for more than 40 years. In 1989 he moved to Missouri to be closer to his family.
He is survived by two brothers, Albert (Dorothy) Adams of McHenry and Joel (Sally) Adams of Bevier, Mo.; and nine nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may greet the family from 10:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass is celebrated Thursday, March 26, at St. John the Baptist Church, 2302 W. Church Ave., Johnsburg.
Inurnment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Johnsburg.
