"Together Forever" Arthur M. Adams, our loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, was finally reunited with his sweetheart and eternal companion, Lucille, on Sunday, June 23, 2002. He was born January 25, 1916 in Detroit, Michigan to Arthur M Adams Sr. and Kathryn Dowd. He married his sweetheart, Lucille Ashlock March 19, 1941; later solemnized in the Los Angeles Temple. Art and Lucille's home was in Fullerton, California. Lucille passed away November 8, 1997. For the last three years Art has resided in West Valley City with his daughter and son-in-law. Art joined the Navy and was in the Sea Bees stationed in the Aleutian Islands in Alaska during World War II. Art was self-employed as an architect. He loved to design and build new homes. He combined that with his work as a design engineer and draftsman for North American Aviation (Boeing) and the 7 Eleven Corporation. Art was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved the scouting program and was involved with the Order of the Arrow. For many years he was a scout commissioner in southern California. One of his joys was working with disabled scouts. It was an honor for Art to receive the Silver Beaver Award. He enjoyed camping, hiking and water skiing with his family. He loved the memories he had working with Lucille as a temple worker in the Los Angeles temple. He cherished his trips with his sweetheart and their season tickets to the California Hale Center Theater. Arthur is survived by his daughter, Dianne (Newell) Anderson, West Valley City; son, Dennis (Denise) Adams, Spokane, Washington; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his sweetheart, Lucille and his grandson, Jay Spencer Adams. Our family wishes to express their appreciation for the support, loving kindness, and tender care given to Art from Dr. Edward Wyne, Neighborhood House, Garden Terrace and Harmony Hospice. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 27, 2002, 11:00 a.m. at the Salt Lake Granger East Stake Center, 3274 Hillsdale Drive (2760 West) where friends and family may call at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South. In lieu of flowers, please contribute, in his memory, to the Perpetual Education Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints..
