Born February 4, 1917 in Antigua, West Indies, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Cecelia (Quillan) Martin.
She was a devoted homemaker for her family and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A mentor to young adults, she also accepted several children into her home as a foster parent and was a helping hand to members of her community. A member of Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene, where she participated in many activities and organization, she was formerly an active member, part of the Women's Ministries and choir at Beeston Hill Wesleyan Church in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Adams is also survived by nine children: Joycelyn Ward, Myrna Francis, Lilette Diamond, Elma-Jean James, Esther Sargent (Paul I), Samuel Adams (Regina), Wayne Adams, J. Edison Adams, Estelle Chambers (Bernet); 17 grandchildren: Dean Ward, Ultressa Diamond, Angeline Richardson (Paul), Marcus Ward, Tiffany Adams, Candace Sargent, Laundrew Diamond, Clydiene Liverman, Paul Sargent II (Kristel), Camron Francis (Mingae), Brandon Adams, Cecilia Sargent, Wayne Adams Jr., Denise Adams, Jala Adams, J, Edison Adams II, Eleazar James, and Isaiah Miller; eight great-grandchildren: Cole Francis, Ami Richardson, Joshua Richardson, Case Liverman, Daniel Ward, Ciya Liverman, Joyia Adams, and Aaron Richardson; and a host of many cousins and other various family members. She was preceded in death by her older sister, Beatrice (Sister Baby).
Burial will be held in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
