Catharine L. Adams, 84, died on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at York Hospital.

Ms. Adams was born August 28, 1924, in York, and was the daughter of the late Philip R. and Laura (Minnich) Adams.

A graduate of William Penn H.S., class of '42, she had been an operator and drafting engineer for 38 years with the former Bell Telephone Co. Ms. Adams was a member of First Presbyterian Church of York where she had served as a deacon and elder, and a member of AARP, the Viking A.A., and the Pioneers Organization of the Bell Telephone Co. She loved people, serving the Lord, and enjoyed watercolor painting.

Ms. Adams is survived by her twin sister, Mary V. Rife of York; a niece, Catherine L. Nace and husband, Dennis of York; two nephews, Harold P. Adams and wife, Brenda of York, and John C. Adams and wif,e Coni of Dover; a grandniece; six grandnephews; several great-grandnieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Helen L. Adams of York. She was preceded in death by a brother, Philip R. Adams, Jr.; a sister, Rachel L. Anthony; and two grandnephews, Raymond P. Adams and James C. Adams.

Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
