On March 19, 1948, at the East End Presbyterian Church he married Janice L. Newhouse who died January 8, 2004.
He worked for forty years with diversified experience in the construction industry, with continuing increases in both position and responsibility levels. He started his working career as a journeyman carpenter with several construction companies in Northwestern PA from 1960 to 1970. From 1970 to 1978 he worked for Kessel Construction as a field superintendent and project manager, 1978 to 1980 he worked for Hardner-Doyle Corp as project manager, 1980 to 1981 for Zamias Dewel Corporation in Johnstown. and then was recruited to complete work on a 964,000 square foot shopping mall in Bluefield West Virginia. From 1981 to 1985 he was project superintendent and project manager at Micale Construction in Bradford. From 1985 to 1990 he worked for various construction companies. His local building projects include: the City of Bradford's Water Filtration Plant, the Commons building at the University of Pittsburgh @ Bradford, the George G. Blaisdell Elementary School, and several stores in the Bradford Mall.
He was a member of the East End Presbyterian Church, American Legion, Blue Lodge #749 F&AM, Coudersport Consistory, Zem Zem Temple in Erie, past member of the McKean Co. Shrine Club, and Roadrunners. In 1985 he was President of the Mid Atlantic Shriners Association Motorcorp., and was the First President of the Provost Guard.
He is survived by a daughter, 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and two brothers Robert and Noel Adams.
Members of the United States Army will accord Military Honors.
