Jerry grew up in Binger, and graduated from Binger High School in 1982. Immediately after graduation he joined the United States Army, where he served for 15 years. He took part in Desert Storm and served 2 tours in Germany. Jerry was a M1A1 Tank Commander. He was discharged with the rank of sergeant, receiving 100% disability from injuries. He moved to Anadarko in 1997 following his discharge.
He was a member of the Paralyzed American Veterans and the Disabled American Veterans Associations. He loved motorcycles, horses, poetry, and most of all, his boys.
He was preceded in death by his father and his mother, Anna Carr Stewart, and grandparents, Lewie and Elnora Carr.
Survivors include his sons, Austin Daniel Adams and Colton James Adams, of the home; and their mother Stacy Adams of Chickasha. Also by two brothers, Bobby Guinn and Jackie Guinn, both of Anadarko; two sisters, Cindy Burks of Anadarko; and Molly Self of Hinton; his best friends, G.A. "Pino" Amoruso of Anadarko; Carolyn and Larry Conway and Stacy Smith of Verden; numerous nieces and nephews, including Julie Claypole of Anadarko, who was especially close to Jerry, other relatives and a wide circle of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 18, at Memory Lane Cemetery. Viewing until 9:00 P.M., Thursday night, and from 9:00 A.M. until noon Friday. Condolences may be sent to the family via e-mail to [email protected]
