A native of Harlen, Ky., Mr. Adams was born Aug. 28, 1926, the son of the late John Quincy Adams and Sally Hilton Adams. He was a former coal miner and retired from Cochran Furniture Manufacturing in Lincolnton, after 30 years of service. He was affiliated with Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Lawndale.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Edwards Adams of the home; a daughter, Lucy Eveland of Crooksville, Ohio; stepson, Michael Self of Van Buren, Ark.; stepdaughters, Shelia Hamrick of Polkville, Deborah Mauney of Cherryville and Juanita Martin of York, S.C.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
