Eloise Adams of Brandon, Mississippi was born on February 12, 1926 in Holopaw, Osceola County, Florida. However, her childhood home was in the Ted Community of Smith County, Mississippi. She graduated from Sylvarena High School where she was a star basketball player. She proclaimed that she never missed a free throw in a game. Affectionately, known to her family as “Weezie” and remembered by friends and family as having the gift of hospitality and also for her legendary cakes and pies. She was a talented beautician, seamstress and gardener and friend to everyone.

Weezie was preceded in death by her parents, Orion James Burnett and Libby Chisholm Burnett, a sister Elsie Burnett Anding, her husband Lemuel Garner Adams, Jr. and her daughter Sandra Adams Smith. She is survived by her sons Lem Adams, III (Marcia) and Jim Adams (Jo) of Brandon, Mississippi and her son in law Tom Smith of Wilmington, North Carolina; grandchildren Adam Smith, Whitty Adams McCloud, Lem Adams, IV, James N. Adams, Jr, Bailey Adams, Libby Adams, Meridith Curtis and Greg May.

Visitation at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon from 5pm to 8pm on Tuesday November 28, 2017. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday November 29, 2017 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Summit, Mississippi.
