PASS CHRISTIAN --- Alvin James Adams, 78, died Monday, Oct. 18, 1999, in Pass Christian.
Mr. Adams was born in Port Arthur, Texas, and had been a resident of Pass Christian since 1987, moving from New Orleans where he lived most of his life. He was a Catholic and attended St. Paul Catholic Church in Pass Christian. Mr. Adams was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II. He was a life member of VFW Post No. 5931 in Pass Christian. He was associated with Monteleon Hotel in New Orleans for 30 years, where he was a manager. Mr. Adams was also a deputy and clerk of court for the Orleans Parish Criminal Sheriff's Office.
Survivors include two daughters, two sons, a brother, James; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Catholic Church in Pass Christian where friends may call an hour before service time. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi.
The family prefers memorials to Hospice, Memorial Hospital at Gulfport, P.O. Box 1810, Gulfport, MS 39502.
Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.
