Doris Lucille Adams, age 97, of Marble Falls, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Newton County Nursing Home in Jasper, Arkansas. She was born on August 2, 1914, in Hartington, Nebraska, the daughter of Charles H. and Julia McNeal (Doane) Adams. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Oscar Adams, as well as, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
Doris graduated from Hartington High School in 1932. Her family then moved to Arkansas, where she married Oscar Adams of Hasty, Arkansas. Doris was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, camping and fishing. She instilled in her children a love for reading, which she also shared with them.
Doris is survived by her son; Arlie Adams and wife, Patsy of Marble Falls, Arkansas, her daughters; Julie & husband, Robert Roberson of Marble Falls, Arkansas, Marie & husband, Jim Sanderson of Gardner, Kansas, and Audrey Wagoner of Everton, Arkansas, as well as her sisters-in-law; Buna Faye Adams of Harrison, Arkansas and Yula Adams of Harrison,10 grandchildren,11 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Arrangements by Roller-Christeson Funeral Home in Harrison, Arkansas.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Roller-Christeson Chapel.
Service will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at the Yardelle Chapel.
Interment will be in Sand Hill Cemetery.
Honorary Pallbearers: Staff at Newton County Nursing Home & Martha Yates.
