Mr. Adams was born April 3, 1946, in Annapolis to Beulah E. Adams of Annapolis, and attended Adams Park Elementary School. He graduated from the former Wiley H. Bates High School in 1965.
He worked in food service for the Naval Academy; he also worked at the county Court House.
Mr. Adams was a member and usher at Asbury Broadneck United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, visiting churches and Gospel singing groups, bowling, horseshoes, football, golf and traveling.
Survivors include four sons, Byron, Corey, Karl and Marlon Adams, all of Maryland; five daughters, Kia Adams, Mona Sheppard, Sheila and Rhonda Johnson and Tonya Johnson Pratt, all of Maryland; two brothers, Samuel B. Adams Jr. of Washington, D.C., and Roland Adams of Maryland; four sisters, Elizabeth Hunt, Peggy Thomas, Frances A. Brown and Helen Lincoln of Maryland; and 16 grandchildren.
