Edwin Perry Adams Sr., 82, Seymour, passed away at Shields House in Seymour at 3:51 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2009.
Mr. Adams was a retired buyer for JayC Foods. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Navy.
Born July 20, 1926, in Rock Haven, Ky., he was the son of Roy G. and Nora Perry Adams, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Doris Basham, who preceded him in death March 27, 2008.
Survivors include his children, Sandra Adams (Ernie) Miller, Elkhart, Edwin Perry Adams Jr., Seymour, Darlene Adams (John) Deckard, Hope, and Edwina Adams (Byron) Nieman, Crothersville; sister, Anna Louise Coleman, Seymour; seven grandchildren, Rob Miller, Kevin Miller, Candace Doll, Evan Deckard, Harvey Adams, Ethan Nieman and Hannah Nieman; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, William R. Adams Sr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel, Seymour. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour, with military rites conducted by American Legion Post 89, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, Disabled American Veterans 47 and Vietnam Veterans 7, all of Seymour.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Salem Baptist Church in Brandenburg, Ky., or to the donor's choice.
