After a courageous battle with cancer, Dennis Glenn Adams has returned to the arms of his loving Heavenly Father. He was a devoted husband of 50 years, father of 3 and grandfather of 14.
Dennis was born in Tremonton Utah. At age 10 he moved to California. He was very active in sports and was the student body president of his school. After high school he went to Brigham Young University and earned a degree in accounting. It is there he met the love of his life, Marilyn Miller. They were married on June 15, 1962 in the Salt Lake Temple. Dennis is now again with his precious wife, who preceded him in death in 2008, and we know it is a joyous reunion.
Dennis is the father of 3 children: Steve Dennis Adams (deceased) (Deanne and Bob Thornley), Michelle McNeill (Todd), and Teri Hegemann (Ed). He has 14 grandchildren that love and adore him. We know that he is now with 2 of those special grandkids and loving them on the other side.
Dennis was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served in numerous Bishoprics, High Councils and Scout Master. He loved being a temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple. Many of his scouts still talk about his awesome breakfasts and great camps. Dennis was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish, and as grandkids came along, he enjoyed teaching them and taking them with him.
Dennis will always be remembered for his enthusiasm for life and his positive attitude. He truly exemplified our Savior with his love for others and his life of service to family and friends.
Dennis was an inspiration to all who knew him. He never let the trials of life get him down and used them as testimony builders to teach and strengthen him and others.
Dennis is preceded in death by his father, Golden Dennis Adams; brother, Stephen Lynn Adams; son, Steven Dennis Adams; wife, Marilyn Miller; and two grandchildren, Zachary and Ashley McNeill. We know that they are all rejoicing together and it gives us comfort to know the plan of a loving Heavenly Father.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at the LDS church located at 6350 S. Rodeo Lane, Murray, Utah, where family and friends may call Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00-11:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment: Murray City Cemetery.
