Margaret Catherine Adams, 85, Route 5, Harrisonburg, died Friday, June 27, 1997. Mrs. Adams was born Jan. 11, 1912, in Dayton and was a daughter of the late William A. and Lydia Branner Landis.

She lived in Rockingham County all of her life. She was a 1929 graduate of Dayton High School and also a graduate of Henry Business School.

She was a dairy farmer and was employed as a supervisor for Rockingham County DHIA.

Mrs. Adams was an honorary lifetime member of the Virginia Holstein Association, where she served as a director. She received the Meritorious Service Award in 1983 and had been a member of the National Holstein Association for 40 years. She was also a member of the Virginia State Dairymen's Association, Rockingham Co-operative Farm Bureau and Massanutten Chapter of the DAR for 25 years, serving on the executive board and supporting all their activities.

On Jan. 17, 1970, she married Frank G. Adams, who died June 22, 1988.

Survivors include one son, Daniel J. Myers, Harrisonburg; one daughter, Leannah M. Cloud, Dayton; one sister, Clara Bowman, Harrisonburg; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The Rev. Stanley Wampler will conduct the funeral at 11 a.m. Monday at First Church of the Brethren in Harrisonburg. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Bridgewater.

The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Sunday at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of the Brethren Building Fund.
