Al Adams, 76, a house painter and decorator who lived in the Lake View area, died Tuesday in Barr Pavilion of Illinois Masonic Hospital.

Mr. Adams was a founder of Diversey Food Pantry, a church-supported agency that provided food to the needy. Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Lucy; 2 sons, James and Michael; 2 daughters, Jane Benson and Ann Moeller; and 23 grandchildren.

Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Wellington and Southport Avenues
