Ephraim Campbell died at age 3. He was born in an area in eastern Lawrence County called Turnback Creek. When some of the settlers came toward the county in the late 1830s, there was a rumor that Indians were in the area west of this creek. Some settlers turned back, others continued. Ephraim was born after this time (1867). His parents, John Adams and Isabella Campbell Adams, had a mill there.
