Jerry L. Adair

Jerry L. Adair, 65, of Goshen, died suddenly Saturday, November 14, 2009.

A resident of the area for the past 28 years coming from Ligonier, he was born to Earl and Ethel (Fowler) Adair on May 23, 1944, in Milford, Indiana. He married Linda Sue Conrad on April 11, 1970, in Wawaka, Indiana. She survives.

Jerry had worked for Johnson Controls of Goshen for 38 ½ years, retiring in 2006. Since his retirement he had worked as a security guard at Menard's in Goshen. He graduated from Wawaka High School in 1964. He was a veteran of the United States Army from 1964-1967, serving primarily with the 594th Transportation Battalion in Germany. Jerry was a longtime and accomplished hunter and fisherman, hunting deer and small game and fishing local lakes, ponds, and streams. He bowled at Maple City for many years on various teams. He was devoted to his family, being a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Joyel L. (Vaughn Vernon) Shaw of Osceola; one son, Jay (Julie) Adair of Middlebury; two grandchildren, Max and Rebekah; and a twin brother, Larry (Nancy) Adair of Brimfield, Indiana. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Whetten, and a brother, Earl Adair, Junior.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, November 17, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.

A 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 18, funeral service will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home with the Reverend Omer Nisley of the Brimfield United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will be at Oak Park Cemetery, Ligonier, Indiana. Military graveside services will be conducted at that time by Goshen Veterans Organizations.
