In 1994 Frank retired as a custodian from the Doña Ana County Court House.
He was a member of the First Assembly of God. Those left to mourn his passing included seven sons, of Albuquerque, of Las Cruces, of Orlando, FL, of Deming; four daughters all of Las Cruces; one sister, also of Las Cruces. Other survivors included nineteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Teresa Garcia Acosta in 2002, a son, Andy G. Acosta in 1988 and two brothers, Mike Gutierrez and Andres Moreno.
Funeral services were held at Church Triumphant, with Pastor Marcus McKay. At his request cremation took place and inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date at Masonic Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with his wife. Military honors were accorded by the New Mexico Army National Guard Honor Guard and the Marine Corps League – El Perro Diablo Detachment. Serving as casket bearers will be his six sons, Frank, Jerry, Raymond, Richard, Danny and Michael Acosta.
Baca's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
