Adalberto "Al" Acosta, age 80, of Lancaster, died peacefully, Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at Hospice of Lancaster County, Lancaster. Born in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Nemencio Acosta and Catalina Lopez. Al was the husband of Ethel Marie Waltz Acosta; they celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on February 7th. Al was a Union Mason Tender on many construction sites. He was a member and Elder of Lancaster First Assembly of God. Along with his wife, Al was a member of his church's Young in Heart Group.
In addition to his wife, Al is survived by his children: Nancy E. wife of David Jackson of Lancaster; Doug S. Acosta of Lancaster, a sister: Hannah wife of Steven Vullo of New York, his grandchildren: Katrina Bradley and Christopher Jackson; 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Al was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
A funeral service for Al will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2011, from Lancaster First Assembly of God, 1025 Columbia Avenue, Lancaster, at 11 a.m. (viewing 10-11 a.m.) with Pastor Kris Newman officiating. Interment will follow in Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster. Please omit flowers.
