She was born August 14, 1914, in Ruff Creek, daughter of the late George and Maude Loughman Acklin.
Mrs. Ross attended Waynesburg High School.
On November 12, 1929, she married Leslie R. Ross, who died November 22, 1962.
She was very active at Calvary Baptist Church in Lippencott, where she taught Sunday school, belonged to the Women's Missionary Society and was a pianist.
Mrs. Ross lived in Ruff Creek until 1944, when she moved to Waynesburg. She was employed at Moore's Bakery for 10 years. In 1956, her family moved to Warren, Ohio, where her husband was employed. After his death, she remained in Ohio until 1977.
When she returned to Waynesburg, she became very active again at Calvary Baptist Church. She joined the Waynesburg Senior Citizens, where she was given awards for her volunteer hours. She was employed part time at Green Thumb and Community Action, where she retired after 24 years at the age of 87.
Surviving are a daughter, EmmaLee Patterson of Warren, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Gladys Martin of Ruff Creek; and a daughter-in-law, Aldine Ross.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are two sons, George W. (Bill) Ross and Robert L. (Bob) Ross; a daughter, Betty Parsons; a son-in-law, Bill Patterson; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Frank, Bill and the Rev. Silas Acklin; and a sister, Flossie Adamson.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of service, Tuesday, December 20, in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, with the Rev. Nick Bardo officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, Ruff Creek. Condolences may be offered at www.behmfh.com.
