Clarence E. Ackerson age 85 of Bushnell, IL passed away at 2:45 P.M. Monday March 3, 2014 at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, IL. Clarence was born on July 28, 1928 in Marietta, IL to William P. and Mary E. Smith Ackerson. He married Betty Slater in Macomb, IL on March 30, 1954. He is survived by his wife Betty of Bushnell, 1 Daughter Clara Mae Simpson of Dallas, TX, 3 Grandchildren – Kate Ryan, and Jeffrey and Abby Simpson. He is also survived by 1 Sister – Florence E. Bollinger of Mesa, AZ, and many, many Nieces and Nephews and Great Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents, 4 Brothers, and 5 Sisters. Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 8, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell, IL with Pastor Dave Eden officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 P.M. on Friday March 7, 2014 at the Funeral home where friends may call after 3:00 P.M. on Friday. Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery in rural Smithfield, IL.
