Barbara Delores "Mama Lois" Acker

PICAYUNE — Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 11 a.m. in Bethlehem Baptist Church for Mrs. Barbara Delores "Mama Lois" Acker, 77, of Picayune, who passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011.
The Rev. Louis Thomas will officiate at the service. Burial will be in the Picayune Cemetery under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.
A native of Picayune, she was a Homemaker. She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church and served on the Pastor Aid Committee and a Senior Mission. She served faithfully until her health failed.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Mr. R.C. Acker; one daughter, Pamela I. Acker; and parents, Florzell Nobles Cazenave and Leo Cazenave.
Survivors include: eight sons, Roy C. (Priscilla) Acker, Stanley (Beverly) Acker, Dale R. (Barbara) Acker, Danny B. (Diane) Acker all of Picayune, Gregory (Mary) Acker of Mission Viezo, Calif., Kevin A. (Tracy) Acker of Clinton Township, Mich., Vincent C. (Davon) Acker of Dallas, Texas, and Orlando R. (Terena) Acker of McKinney, Texas; one daughter, Sharon Acker of Picayune; one step-daughter, Cynthia Colette (Ronald) Duere of Slidell, La.; one brother-in-law, Matthew Acker of New Orleans, La.; one sister-in-law, Martha Jane Acker of Picayune; one special niece, Lois Mae Acker Oliver of Picayune; one special cousin, Dalphine Hawthrone of Picayune; two loving sister/friends, Mattha Ray Murdock and Johnnie Mae Williams both of Picayune; two God brothers, Sonny (Debra) Davis of Pittsburg, Calif., and Ceciel Ray (Shenicka) Mark of Benton Harvey, Mich.; three special sons, Darryl (Tracy) Davis of Mich., Allen C. (Sherrie Nell) Davis of Mich., and Terry Wayne Davis of Flint, Mich.; two special friends, Peggy Magee and Shirleen Landry both of Picayune; 23 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 10 great great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 19, 2011 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. in Bethlehem Baptist Church.
