MRS. LEVINA ACKER, age 81, died at 11:45 this morning at the home of Albert Hertle [sic], south of the city. The cause of death was a complication of diseases and old age. Mrs. Acker lived at Decatur, Ind., until about two weeks ago, when she came to her daughter's home south of the city.
Those who survive her are her daughter, Mrs. Hertle, and one son, Samuel Acker, two sisters, and one brother, Mrs. Mary Hollenbaugh of Battle Creek, Mich., and Mrs. Abraham Bebolt [sic] of Decatur, Ind., and Samuel Rebline [sic] of Decatur. Funeral services will be announced later.

Memory of a Widely Known Resident of Van Wert County
Lovina Acker, daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Fredline, was born in Eastern Ohio, 7 June 1838, departed this life 27 Mar 1920 at the home of her daughter, in Van Wert County, Ohio, aged 81 years, 9 months, 20 days. While yet a child she with her parents moved to Adams county, Ind., in which vicinity she spend all of her life, thus being among the early settlers. In 1885 (sic; 1855) she was united in marriage to Samuel Acker. To this union were given four children, one of whom at the age of two years and one at the age of fifty-one, also, the husband, preceded her to the spirit world. She was converted at the age of twenty and united with the M. E. Church at Mt. Tabor. She was a faithful member until she went home to her reward. After the death of her daughter, Mrs. Etta Roop, of Adams county, Ind., who made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Ora Hertel, of Van Wert County. She was a loving mother, a faithful member of the church and a loyal citizen. Those left to mourn and also to cherish in sweet memories the life of a mother and sister are the two children, Mrs. Ora Hertel, of Van Wert County, and Samuel Acker, of Decatur, Ind., sixteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two brothers, two sisters, with other relatives and friends.
Call not back the dear departed,
Anchored safe where storms are o'er,
On the border land we left her,
Soon to meet and part no more.
When we leave this world of changes,
When we leave this world of care,
We shall find our missing loved one
In our Father's mansion fair.
