Emily Ann "Jill" Acheson, 79, of Champaign, Illinois, died at 1:55 p.m. Monday (Jan. 21, 2013) at home after a battle with cancer.

She was born on Oct. 1, 1933 in La Grange, Illinois to John and Emily Thompson Hanafee. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John "Jack" Hanafee; her son, Stephen Walter Acheson and her sister-in-law, Doris Hanafee. She married James Acheson on Dec. 3, 1955. He survives.

She is also survived by three children, William (Eva) Acheson, Suzanne (Brian) Warner and Amy (Ata) Durukan; six grandchildren, Alexander Stephen Acheson, Adam Edward Acheson, Sarah Emily Warner, Anna Christine Warner, Scott Stephen Warner and Erin Ann Durukan; two brothers, Patrick (Valerie) Hanafee and James Hanafee and sister-in-law, Ann (James) Bailey.
