Rachel Hill, 81, of Hillview Health Care in Vienna and formerly of Harrisburg, died Sunday, Sept. 17, at Union County Hospital in Anna.
She was born July 8, 1919, in Marion, to Taylor and Effie (Blackman) Absher.
She married Raymond Hill, who preceded her in death April 3, 1974.
She was a retired licensed practical nurse and was a member of Newcastle Baptist Church, where she received an award for the longest membership, which was more than 70 years.
She is survived by four daughters, Joyce Reeder of Carrier Mills, Carolyn Ross of Lexington, Ky., Lonnie Quertermous of Vienna and Becky Williamson of Glendale; a son, Robert A. Hill of Carrier Mills; one brother Bob Absher of Carrier Mills; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Judith Ann and Norma Jean; a sister, Myrtle Bynum; and two brothers, Royal and Bill Absher.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Norman Cozart officiating. Visitation is after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills.
The family suggests memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
