Passed away suddenly on May 30, 2016 at the age of 81. David was born in Lansing, June 21, 1934, the son of Moses and Alice (Ellis) Abood. He enlisted with the US Marine Corps serving during the Korean War. David retired from Clark Construction after over 30 years of service and was a lifelong member of the Carpenters Union Local 1004. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, took pride in his craftmanship and mowing his lawn.
He is survived by his son, Daniel (Candace) Abood; daughter-in-law, Alicia (John) Abood-Helrigel; grandchildren, Bruce (Heidi) , Daina, Danielle, Zachary (Gina), Christopher and Kamilah Abood; great grandchildren, Noah, Eden, Leon and Callie Abood; siblings, Delores Hughes, Roosevelt Abood, Donald (Sandy) Abood, Gerald Abood. David was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Della Abood; son, David Abood Jr; sister-in-law, Peggy Abood.
Funeral services will be 11 am Friday June 3, 2016 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1701 E. Saginaw St. Lansing, MI 48912. Interment will take place at Bunker Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Arrangements were entrusted to the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids.
