Birth: Jan. 22, 1946
London
Greater London, England
Death: Mar. 28, 2011
Salt Lake County
Utah, USA

We are saddened by the sudden loss of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Vivien Abeyta, who passed away on March 28, 2011, but we celebrate her love and her goodness.

She was born in London, England to John and Ruth Pearson, her father, John, being an American G.I. and her mother, Ruth, a native Londoner.

Not long after her birth, the family moved to East Carbon. She was a graduate of East Carbon High School and married George Abeyta just after graduating. The couple was married forty-six years.

She was loved by all who came in contact with her and was known for her generosity and upbeat personality.

Vivien and George were inseparable. They were the best of friends, world travelers, and loving parents.

She enjoyed traveling and taking cruises. She and George were crowned dance champions for the Jitterbug on one of their cruise adventures.

Vivien also enjoyed golfing, bowling, Oprah Winfrey, CNN, and the QVC channel.
She was also a great cook. Many people thought her chili verde recipe was the best!!

She was very generous and would always be there to help anyone in need.

Vivien retired from Parker Hannifin Corporation as a Marketing Administrative Assistant. She loved her job and loved all the people who worked with her.

May God take her into his arms and may she have everlasting life filled with peace, love and happiness. I love you, Mom!

Vivien is survived by her husband, George Abeyta; mother, Ruth Pearson; son, Kevin Abeyta; and sister, Madge Evans.

A vigil will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2011 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 624 West Lennox Street, Midvale. A funeral mass will also be held at the church on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.

Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.
This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord, “You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”
The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”
