Albina T. Abeyta, age 85, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2010, at Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

She was born on Feb. 2, 1925, in Mineral Hill, N.M., to the late Pedro Trujillo and Cruzita De La Cruz Quintana Trujillo.

She was united in marriage in Las Vegas on April 14, 1941, to Ramon S. Abeyta.

Albina retired after 15 years of employment as a cook with the Las Vegas City Schools and formerly worked for Jay Val Parachute Factory in Las Vegas. She loved to dance, sing, attend Senior Citizens and play bingo.

A lifetime Catholic, she was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas and a member of the Santa Teresa Choir.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Pedro and Cruzita Trujillo; husband: Ramon S. Abeyta and most of her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her daughters: Georgianna Romero and husband Marvin Sr. of Placitas, N.M., Marcella Coca and husband Joe C. of Las Vegas; son: Sam E. Abeyta and wife Angie of Las Vegas; grandchildren: Yvette Johnson and husband Tommy, Danny Coca and wife Elizabeth, Lynda Dominguez, Armella Edwards, Pedro Coca and wife Fabiola, Angelo Abeyta and wife Tracy, Aaron Abeyta, Marvin Romero Jr., Adrian Abeyta and wife Jessica, Diego Romero, Esteban Coca and wife Lucy, Adam Abeyta and friend Lori, Samara Encinias and husband Mario; 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; brother: Willie Trujillo and wife Nora of Vallejo, Calif.; sister in law: Annie Abeyta; numerous: nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Rosary services were held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father C. John Brasher as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Las Vegas, with the following serving as casket bearers: Danny Coca, Pedro Coca, Angelo Abeyta, Adrian Abeyta, Adam Abeyta, Aaron Abeyta, Marvin Romero, Jr., Diego Romero and Esteban Coca. Serving as honorary bearers will be all her remaining grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandson.
