96, moved from earth to eternity on Aug. 15,2008, slipping away peacefully in her sleep. She had been a longtime resident of the Eastside but in recent years lived in care facilities. Born in Wootsburg, (Sp) Wis., Jan. 20,1912, she came to Pueblo, with the family for whom she was a nanny. It was here she married, adopted a son, and attended Southern Colorado State college in the 1960s in business and accounting. She was a homemaker who lived alone for almost 50 years after the early deaths other son and husband. She devoted her time to her home, yard and church. In 1995 she became a member of Park Hill Christian Church (DOC). Her church family remembers her as follows: An inspiration to me, Mary; hearing her story and the hardships she faced makes me realize I need to appreciate life with every value it has, Maria; she has always felt like family to me, Dorothy; she never complained, was always cheerful and faithful to be in church, Carole; What a dear, dear lady; she especially liked the lime- green trees in the early spring and the fall, Del; a very loving and friendly person, Nancy and Ashley; she loved being in church, raising her hands in praise and getting bulletins and newsletters, Becky; Alice had a smile for everyone that greeted her, loved babies and animals; a sweet and gentle soul, Melanie; she recognized God's earthly beauty and the changes of the seasons, Doris; Alice loved God and her church family, Thelma. Alice is survived by a niece, Gloriana; and nephew, Richard Kami in Northern California and by her friends and the church family. Memorial graveside service, 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, Imperial Gardens. Donations in her memory may be sent to Park Hill Christian Church (DOC), 1401 E. 7th, Pueblo, CO 81001.
