BERTHA ABERDEEN, 89, of 34 Smith St., died yesterday at Mt. St. Francis Health Center in Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late William D. Aberdeen.
Born in England, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Sarah (Bird) Downend, she lived in Woonsocket for three years, previously living in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
She had been a volunteer at the Woonsocket Red Cross.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, William B. Aberdeen of Woonsocket; a daughter, Joyce A. Wilde of Ocala, Fla., 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Harry Downend, Violet Bliss, Annie Hamer, Jane Pogson and Eileen Sanderson.
The funeral and burial will be private.
