A funeral for Carol Fay Abeln of McMinnville will be held at 10 a.m. today in the chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, McMinnville, with the Rev. Arden Kinser officiating.

Interment will be private.

Mrs. Abeln died of natural causes July 15, 2002, in Willamette Valley Medical Center, McMinnville. She was 53.

She was born Feb. 17, 1949, in Phoenix, Ariz., the daughter of Chester and Jean Barbara Carey Tacket.

She lived in Shelton, Wash., from 1972 to 1982. She lived in Tualatin from 1989 to 2002.

She and Michael Abeln were married April 16, 1999, in Las Vegas.

Mrs. Abeln had lived in McMinnville for the past three months. She enjoyed camping, gardening and the ocean.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Stephenie Saloum of Aloha; a son, Ronald Wilkes of Wishon, Calif.; a sister, Dianna Drake of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and five grandchildren.
