Alta Abell, 89, passed away, October 20, 2016. She was born January 2, 1927, to Harley and Laura (Ward) Harker in Pike County, Ind.
Alta married Delbert Abell on May 11, 1946.
Alta was preceded in death by her parents; several brothers and sisters; and her husband, Delbert on August 16, 1984. She is survived by a son, Dick (Linda) Abell, of Petersburg; a daughter, Connie (Lowell) Thomas, of Petersburg; grandchildren, Keith (Erica) Thomas, Mike (Abby) Thomas, Cathy (Jimmy) Thurman and Melanie (Randy) Ennis; great-grandchildren, Annika and Blake Thurman, Wyatt Thomas, and Steven and Quinton Ennis.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 24, 2016, at 11 a.m. EST at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, Ind. Rev. Dale Fredrick will be officiating the services. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, October 23. 2016, from 4 to 8 p.m. EST at the funeral home.
