Doris Marie Abel was born on October 15, 1915, in Logan Township near Cavour, South Dakota to Roy and Kittie May (Sweet) Abel. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Cavour High School in 1937. She married Raymond Nenaber in the Spring of 1948. They farmed south of Iroquois all their married life. She moved to Huron in 1999.
Doris enjoyed gardening, raising flowers as well as vegetables. She also enjoyed crocheting and made many items for her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Iroquois United Methodist Church.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; one son, Robert "Bob"; one grandson, Travis "T.J."; and five brothers and sisters, Leslie, Averil, Cecil, Chester and Darel.
Survivors include her son, Brian and his wife Eileen Nenaber of Huron; four grandchildren, Scott Nenaber of Alpena, Amanda Nenaber of Denver, Colorado, Courtney Nenaber of Brookings, and Tyler Nenaber of Huron; one great grandson, Landon Bult; and many nieces and nephews.
