Paul R. Abel, 79, of 1056 Pebble RD SE, Carrollton, died at his home Monday evening. He was born November 5, 1893, in Loudon Twp., a son of the late John P. and Louella (Crim) Abel. A farmer and custom thresher, Mr. Abel had lived his lifetime in Carroll County. A member of First United Methodist Church of Carrollton and a charter member of Washington Hall Grange, he had served as a deputy sheriff and had been a member of the Carrollton school board. Mr. Abel was married January 12, 1917, to Ina Dotts, who died in April 1972.
Surviving are four sons, Frank and Keith of Carrollton, Myron of St. Charles, Missouri and John of Ashtabula; one brother, Earl of Carrollton; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Allmon-Dugger Funeral Home, here, with burial in Westview cemetery, Carrollton.
