Magdalena Henggi was born near Berne, Switzerland, February 8, 1859 and departed this life January 29,1936 at the age of 76 years 11 months and 21 days.

She grew to womanhood in the land of her birth and at the age of 24 years she came to America.

In the year 1883, December 29, age was united in marriage with Jacob Abbuhl at Sigourney, Iowa. To this union seven children were born, one daughter and six sons. In 1886 the family moved to Nebraska, and in 1887 they moved into the precinct where they now reside, living on the home place since 1905.

She was a kind wife and mother and a loyal friend. She was reared in the Christian faith from childhood and confirmed in the Lutheran church; among her last requests was that her rites be taken from the 90th Psalm.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, a daughter Mary of Hastings, four sons, John, Edd, Mac and Ziba all of Palisade, five grandchildren, one sister and a host of relatives and friends. Those that preceded her in death are two sons, Adolph and Freddie that died in infancy her parents, two sisters and a brother.
