Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home in charge. Born in Paris, son of General R. and Lillian Hatch Abbott. Attended Cunningham and Delmar schools. Was a self-employed brick mason and was a member of the Pentecostal Church. Surviving are his mother, who lives in Paris; 2 daughters, Angie Abbott Cullum of Denton, and Amie Abbott Mitchell of Arlington; a sister, Zady Harvey of Paris; and a grandson Colby Cullum of Denton. Was preceded in death by his father in 1978, and a brother, Gary Abbott in 1986. Bearers were Melvin and Stanley Abbott, Jay Mack Harvey, Prentice Shoemate, Carter Cullum, Sean Mitchell, Eddie Archer, and Doug Bailey.'
